Valenzuela Fire: 218 Families Displaced, 9 Injured

A massive fire engulfed a hardware warehouse in Valenzuela City, displacing 218 families and injuring nine individuals, as reported by the local government.

The blaze initiated at a Herco Trading storage facility on Thursday and spread to adjacent industrial and residential locales.

Despite reaching “Task Force Bravo” alarm level, the fire was contained but not entirely extinguished by late Friday, with 42 fire trucks at the scene.

Eight firefighters and a civilian incurred minor injuries.

Affected families are currently sheltered in various evacuation centers across the city.

Another fire incident occurred at Virces General Construction Company on Friday but was quickly controlled.

On Thursday, the mayor visited the evacuation centers to assess the condition of the displaced families. Warm meals were served and support was extended by the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

The following day, Mayor Gatchalian convened with the Bureau of Fire Protection, city department heads, and Barangay Bagbaguin officials to evaluate and plan for the well-being of those affected by the warehouse incident, including the displaced workers and local residents.

Provisions were also made for the evacuated families’ pets, including cages, food, and water to ensure their safety and comfort.

Residents have been advised by the local government to remain in the evacuation centers until authorities confirm it is safe to return to their homes, ensuring their safety amidst the ongoing situation.
