PNP Operations Yield P3.45 M in Drugs, Arrests in Central Luzon

Authorities in Central Luzon confiscated over PHP3.45 million worth of illegal drugs in a series of operations conducted from October 2 to 8.

Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., the chief of Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), reported on Monday that 93 anti-illegal drug operations led to the arrest of 130 suspects.

Two significant seizures occurred in Magalang, with PHP489,600 and PHP408,000 worth of shabu confiscated on October 7 and October 2, respectively.

Hidalgo also highlighted the intensified efforts of PRO-3 in apprehending wanted individuals and curbing illegal possession of firearms and gambling activities.

A total of 132 wanted individuals were arrested, including 21 most wanted persons involved in serious crimes like murder and rape.

In terms of election-related accomplishments, 20 gun ban violators were apprehended, and 13 firearms were seized.

Illegal gambling activities were also targeted, resulting in the arrest of 144 individuals and the confiscation of PHP325,066 in bets.

PRO-3’s operational capabilities received a boost with the addition of 34 new patrol units and three personnel carrier vehicles. These were distributed to the police provincial offices of Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales, as well as the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

Hidalgo expressed optimism that the enhanced mobility would lead to more significant accomplishments and improved police services across the region.
