NLEX Steps Up and Provides Relief to Typhoon-Affected Communities
NLEX Corporation has generously provided donations and relief support to communities, governmental and transport bodies, and charitable organizations impacted by the recent natural disasters.
Earlier this month, the company distributed 500 mattresses and 225 double-deck beds to the AFP’s Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) in Tarlac, Mabalacat City Drop-in Center for Women and Children, Bahay Pag-asa in Mabalacat and Angeles, both in Pampanga, and Ephesus Home for Girls in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
“We are committed to standing alongside institutions that are dedicated to transforming lives and appreciate their efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of every Filipino, particularly women and young people. We honor these organizations for implementing programs that assist underprivileged Filipinos,” stated NLEX President J. Luigi L. Bautista.
Edna Duaso, the head of Bahay Pag-asa Angeles, expressed her gratitude to NLEX for their generous contributions.
She noted that the steel beds and mattresses will significantly enhance the living conditions of the children they look after.
Bahay Pag-asa is managed by the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development.
In addition, NLEX extended its support to 45 families in Barangay Mapulang Lupa in Valenzuela City, who suffered from a structural collapse triggered by the heavy rains from the southwest monsoon and Typhoon Hanna.
The company also contributed gabions to Barangay Hacienda Dolores in Porac, Pampanga, a community recently affected by a landslide, to mitigate future risks to the residents.
Furthermore, NLEX donated bags of rice to the members of the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization – National Jeepney Organization impacted by the typhoons.
The corporation also provided walkers, canes, and crutches to the Create a Job for Disabled Association, Inc., in Pandacan, Manila, bolstering its initiative to equip persons with disabilities with mobility aids to enhance their access to services and job opportunities.
