Central Luzon Police Nab 20 Wanted Persons During All Saints’ Day Observance

During the commemoration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, Central Luzon police apprehended at least 20 individuals with outstanding warrants.

Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the head of the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3), reported on Friday that among those detained were two notably high-profile suspects. These arrests occurred as the wanted persons ventured home for the traditional visits to their ancestors’ graves.

The operations resulted in the capture of a 43-year-old tricycle driver from Angat, Bulacan, who is ranked as the second most wanted at the regional level for murder, with the courts denying bail. Additionally, a 20-year-old from Baliwag City, considered the fifth most wanted at the provincial level and the top most wanted at the city level, was arrested on two counts of rape, also with no bail option.

Hidalgo noted that the arrests included individuals wanted for various other offenses, including robbery and illegal drug-related activities.

He explained that while ensuring public safety at cemeteries was the primary goal for the PRO-3 during the holiday, the police also took the chance to locate and arrest individuals with standing warrants, anticipating that they might return home for the festivities.

Hidalgo appealed to the public for ongoing support of law enforcement actions targeting wanted persons. He also encouraged the relatives of those still at large to either facilitate their surrender to the authorities or guide them to the nearest police station.

In addition, Hidalgo provided an update on the overall peace and order during the holiday period, noting that the region experienced a generally peaceful observance with no significant incidents, attributing this to the proactive strategies implemented by the PRO-3 police units to safeguard travelers, commuters, and the general populace.
