Aspirants Flock PMA Entrance Examination Venue

In Tarlac City, thousands of aspiring young individuals participated in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Entrance Examination, held at the Armed Forces Northern Luzon Command Multi-purpose Hall on September 30 and October 1.

Lt. Gen. Fernyl Buca, the chief of Nolcom, expressed the organization’s privilege in hosting the examination.

“We are honored to have played a part in the initial stages of identifying and nurturing the future leaders of our Armed Forces. The Northern Luzon Command is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen our nation’s defense capabilities and hosting the PMA entrance examination aligns perfectly with our mission,” Buca stated.

Nolcom confirmed that the examination venue was both secure and well-organized.

The examination serves as a means to identify elite candidates eligible for the rigorous education and training programs offered by the PMA, and similar exams were conducted in various locations across Luzon during the same weekend.

The PMA stands as the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) official training institution, boasting over a century of history in molding men and women for military service.

Originating from the Academia Militar established on October 25, 1898, in Malolos, Bulacan, by the first president of the Philippine Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo, the academy has undergone several transformations.

However, it was temporarily closed on January 20, 1899, due to the onset of conflicts between Filipinos and Americans.

The academy was revived in 1905 during the American colonial period, initially as an officers’ school for the Philippine Constabulary in Intramuros, before moving to Camp Henry T. Allen in Baguio three years later.
